Miriam Helms ÅLIEN

Nationality: Norwegian

Miriam has been studying at the Barrat Due Institute of Music in Oslo since 2004 with Alf Richard Kraggerud and since 2008 also with Henning Kraggerud and Stephan Barrat-Due. She has won 1st Prize at the International Kocian Violin Competition (2007) and the National Youth Violin Championship of Norway (2004, 2006 and 2008).

She has performed at international festivals in Norway, Germany and Switzerland and at Wigmore Hall and Oslo Concert Hall. She has played with numerous national and international orchestras including the Tromsø Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. Miriam plays a 1780 Nicolo Gagliano violin on loan from Storebrand Insurance ASA.
