What is an Education Plan?
All students who enter a programme at the Norwegian Academy of Music have an individual education plan. The education plan was introduced by law in 2003, as part of the "Quality Reform in Higher Education", and is intended as a mutual commitment between the student and the learning institution in regards to study progression and obligations.
The education plan contains a general part (part 1) and an individual part (part 2). Both parts must be confirmed each semester, and is part of the semester registration process.
Where can the Education Plan be found?
The education plan is available on Studentweb and is, as mentioned above, part of the registration process. The education plan must be confirmed each semester.
Even after registration is completed, the education plan will be available for viewing and review throughout the student's time at the Academy. The only exception is at the beginning of a new semester, when Studentweb requires the payment of the new semester fee before opening the education plan menus.
What does the Education Plan contain?
The education plan is in two parts; a general part (part 1) and an individual part (part 2).
Part 1 contains important and relevant information about the student's study programme, including study plans and rules and regulations. The student must confirm that this information is read and understood.
Part 2 contains an overview of all regular courses that are part of the student's programme, sorted by semester. It is possible to add new courses to this plan, where applicable. Elective courses are chosen through Studentweb, but will not be available until the relevant semester.
The education plan is approved by clicking "Approve Plan" at the end of the page. When this is done, the student will be registered for tutoring and examinations in the courses beginning or finishing the same semester.
