This is a one-year study programme and is intended for applicants with a classical music background who already have a performance based bachelor degree (three years’ study) and who wish to concentrate further on their principal instrument. The programme content is designed to give students an opportunity to work towards applying for a Master’s programme at the Norwegian Academy of Music, admission to which requires a level equal to the Academy’s own four-year Bachelor's Degree in Performance.
The programme is equivalent to the fourth year of the Bachelor's in Performance, and comprises 30 ECTS credits in performance-related subjects and 30 ECTS credits in elective courses. Tuition is in English.
Admission to the Supplementary Performance Studies requires a three-year bachelor degree in music or the equivalent, with minimum 80 ECTS credits from performance-
related subjects. Entrance examinations, corresponding to the examinations for the 2nd part of the Bachelor's in Performance, will be held in the third week of March. Candidates for the Supplementary Performance Studies programme are expected to demonstrate a level of performance equivalent to a completed three-year bachelor programme in performance.
