Admission to the programme requires a bachelor's degree in music with 80 ECTS credits in general music subjects and teacher education that qualifies for employment in the Norwegian school system.
The programme aims to offer insight into music education as an academic subject area and provide a basis for further research and development in the subject. Tuition in this programme is in Norwegian, and the applicant must have a very good working knowledge of the Norwegian language to be accepted as a student. The programme includes a postgraduate thesis written in Norwegian.
