Video Audition

International applicants living outside of the Nordic countries can apply by video audition. This applies for the following programmes:

• 2nd part of Bachelor’s in Performance (from year three)
  
  • Classical Music
  • Improvised Music/Jazz
    
  • Traditional Nordic Folk Music
• Supplementary Performance Studies – Bachelor's level
• Advanced Studies for Solo Instrumentalist or Chamber Music Ensembles
• Master’s in Performance:
  • Principal Main Instrument/Chamber Music
  • Improvised Music/Jazz
• In-Depth Performance Studies – Master’s level

This does NOT APPLY to the 1st part bachelor's programmes (from year one), applicants to these programmes MUST attend the live auditions in Oslo, 14-18 March 2011.

The video will be evaluated by the jury at the time of the live audition. It will be taken into consideration that the applicant has had more opportunity and less trying conditions in which to prepare such a video in comparison with an applicant taking part in a live audition. The video recording must be of the complete audition repertoire prepared by the applicant in accordance with the requirements of the relevant study programme.

The video recording may be submitted on one of the following formats/standards: Mini DV (Digital Video Cassette) or DVD and submitted with the application form by 15 December 2010. A responsible person must certify that it is in fact the applicant seen and heard on the video - preferably a teacher.

Applicants that are accepted on the basis of a video audition must repeat their audition repertoire for a live jury at the start of the semester, before admission is finally confirmed.
