Study Programmes at the Norwegian Academy of Music

For most programmes Norwegian is the primary language of instruction, though individual instruction may be in another language, mostly English. A selected number of degree programmes are offered in English.

All programmes at the Norwegian Academy of Music are in accordance with the common European Bologna Process.

Bachelor's Level Programmes

• Entrance to year one requires completed upper secondary education
• Entrance to year three requires two years of higher education in music at the Academy level
• Available programmes

Master's Level Programmes

• Entrance requires a completed bachelor's degree
• Available programmes

Doctoral programmes 

• Music education and music therapy (for Ph.D.-degree)
• Historical and contemporary performance practice (for Ph.D.-degree)

The National Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowships Programme

• The National Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowships Programme is parallel to other research educations organised as academic PhD programmes. The programme intends to secure high level artistic research and leads to expertise as Associate Professor.
