Cheating and attempted cheating

Published: 07. May 2008

The consequences of cheating in examinations, or attempted cheating, are regulated by the Universities and University Colleges Act, §s 4-7 and 4-8.

If suspicions of cheating or attempted cheating arise during the course of an examination, the student will immediately be notified that he or she will be reported. This includes any student who attempts to provide help. The student will then have the choice of continuing or aborting the examination.

Cheating or attempted cheating in home examinations or assignments may include unauthorised copying or plagiarism of litterature without proper references. The same goes for answer papers dominated by a lack of independent contents; i.e. if the answer paper is very similar to others' papers, or if it is obviously written or performed by a party other than the student.
