The Diploma Supplement (DS) is a document attached to a higher education diploma aiming at improving international ‘transparency’ and at facilitating the academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc.). It is designed to provide a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were successfully completed by the individual named on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended.
The DS consists of a general section, which describes the national system of higher education, and an individual section. The DS is normally four pages long.
Read more about the DS on the European Commission's pages on education.
Who can receive a DS?
All students awarded a degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music receive a Diploma Supplement along with their final diploma (degree certificate). The DS is automatically issued in English and free of charge to every student upon graduation.
Students who have completed other types of programmes, such as one-year units or further education programmes, are not awarded designated degrees - and are concequently not issued a DS.
Ordering a DS
As with the diploma, there is no need to apply for a Diploma Supplement. The DS is issued automatically along with your diploma.
If you have any questions conserning the DS, please contact the Examination Office.
