Description of objectives and themes:
The aim of this project is to document the new instrumental practices that have emerged in the music field. Moreover, the goal is to provide an overview of the kind of competence that is required of a musician that specializes in contemporary music.
The project will also reflect on what new attitudes and aesthetic, compositional and notation related terms that are in play on today’s music scene. More specifically, the project aims to map out new instrumental techniques, new instrumental roles, and the creative role of the improviser and artist.
Organization:
The project will be organized through active forums and networks where members of the target area will present and discuss their individual projects.
Activities:
Development of forms of documentation for new instrumental practices
Any concerts based on thematic representation
Edited recordings of concerts or single study admission, and in some cases, commercially released sound recordings
Monthly group meetings
Presentations in concert and lecture format
Conferences and seminars
Teaching, primarily at the master level
