As a student, having paid your semester registration* fee you can sign up for a specific physician as your regular General Practitioner (GP) at the Student Health Services at SiO.
With SiO as your GP:

• When acutely ill, we will help you with an emergency appointment
• You can make an ordinary GP appointment via SMS
• You will have access to public health nurse and vaccinations
• You will have a doctor that specializes in student related problems
About refund: You can for example receive a refund of expenses as a result of examination and treatment by doctors and psychologists, at public outpatient clinics and at x-ray institutes, and for important medicines through the blue prescription scheme.
Change your GP online by logging on MyPage on www.sio.no/health. You need a Norwegian personal identification number (11 digits) and your code for Altinn. Find your Altinn codes at www.altinn.no. You are welcome to contact the receptions at our GP-offices for help in selecting us as your GP!
You will find further information regarding the GP system at the Student Health services and a refund form at www.sio.no/health.
If you are not entitled to a permanent GP at the Student Health Services, you can still contact us during opening hours for acute illness treatment.
*Some international students are exempt from paying the semester registration fee, but are still entitled to use the Student Health Services.
