The world’s most prestigious competition for young violinists comes to Oslo from 16 –25 April 2010. 42 competitors from 10 countries have been selected to participate. Owing to the disruption in air traffic over Norway and northern Europe, we have decided to delay the opening rounds and Senior semifinals in the Menuhin Competition by one day. This means that the Senior first rounds will begin on Sunday 18 April, and so on.

NAM holds major conference on music and mental health

On Thursday 21 January, researchers and practitioners in the field of mental health from all over Scandinavia will gather for a conference on "Music and mental health work with children and young people" at the Norwegian Academy of Music. The conference is being organised by the Centre for Music and Health at the Academy.
The Norwegian Academy of Music celebrates Bärenreiter's new edition of Beethoven's Violin Concerto with a conference entitled "Interpretive Choices in Beethoven". The conference takes place on 1–2 December 2009
