Opening of the academic year

All first year students start on Monday 17 August at 9.30. The first two weeks are induction weeks filled with important information, interesting lectures, different workshops and loads of opportunities to socialize. The first week there will be workshops with the ensemble NING in cooperation with the festival Happy Nordic Music Days.
The Norwegian Academy of Music celebrates Bärenreiter's new edition of Beethoven's Violin Concerto with a conference entitled "Interpretive Choices in Beethoven". The conference takes place on 1–2 December 2009
NAM holds major conference on music and mental health

On Thursday 21 January, researchers and practitioners in the field of mental health from all over Scandinavia will gather for a conference on "Music and mental health work with children and young people" at the Norwegian Academy of Music. The conference is being organised by the Centre for Music and Health at the Academy.
