Who are we and what do we want to accomplish?
The Centre for Music and Health was established in August 2008. The centre is lead by Gro Trondalen, and the work group consists of prof. Lars Ole Bonde (University of Aalborg, Denmark), prof. Even Ruud (Norwegian Academy of Music/The University of Oslo), associate professor Karette Stensæth (Norwegian Academy of Music) and PhD scholar Marie S. Skånland (Norwegian Academy of Music). We aim to provide information about the ongoing activites at the centre as well as information and news related to the relationships of music and health.
The Centre for Music and Health has the following aims:
The main objective for the Centre for Music and Health is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the relations between music and health through research and development. To achieve this, we will:
· Provide information to the public sphere
· Initiate and develop international collaboration
· Initiate and implement research projects
· Spread knowledge of health promoting and therapeutic uses of music
· Publish Anthologies for the Centre for Music and Health
· Update Facebook for Centre for Music and Health
· Arrange seminars, international symposiums, and lectures
· Make visible the competence that exists at the Norwegian Academy of Music regarding music and health and music therapy
