Tony Wigram (Aalborg Universitet ) og Lars Ole Bonde (Senter for musikk og helse) er blevet indbudt til at tale om "Musical dynamics and emotion in therapy: Theory and applied research". Abstractet for deres keynote lyder sådan:

If music is a medium for expressing the innexpressable, what qualities in music support the emotional characteristics that give meaning to this form of communication, and how is this applied in therapy? Research into the therapeutic value of music indicates that live, improvisational music making activates emotional expression irrespective of any pre-required musical skill, while complex orchestral music from the classical and romantic era stimulates highly charged imagery reflecting inner emotional states regardless of an individual’s personal musical education. Theories in musicology and music psychology underpin the therapeutic effects found when active or receptive techniques are applied to touch and meet the emotional needs of people generally, and especially for people with severe pathology. Case histories and findings from experimental studies in neurodisability, pervasive developmental disorder, hearing impairment, cancer care and personal development offer some examples of the emotional potential of music when applied in a therapeutic treatment. Analysis of musical elements and the intensity contour of the music are two ways of identifying specific qualities that inform therapeutic intervention.
